Procurated Awarded “Most Innovative Company” at PA Procurement Expo

On September 5, 2019, the online ratings and review platform Procurated was voted the Most Innovative Company at the Pennsylvania Procurement Expo in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  The conference organized by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services was attended by roughly 1,500 public procurement professionals from across the state.  The results were announced at the end of the conference’s second day.  Procurated garnered the highest tally of votes among more than 250 competing companies that provide goods and services to governments in the Keystone state.

“For two straight days of the conference, attendees from across the state came to our booth and engaged directly with the Procurated platform.  We built Procurated to bring to government an innovative, modern approach to vendor performance management identical to what government officials use in their daily lives when choosing a restaurant, a hotel or a contractor.  We are gratified that the procurement professionals who used it themselves are as excited as we are about the impact that Procurated can make in making critical purchasing decisions,” said David Yarkin, Founder and CEO of Procurated.

Procurated is the nation’s first and only peer ratings and review platform built for the public sector.  On the platform, government officials can write reviews about suppliers, find the highest rated suppliers in their area and read candid reviews written by their peers before selecting a supplier. Processes that once took hours can be accomplished in minutes through Procurated’s technology, bringing the expertise of the entire procurement community onto a single platform.

Earlier this year, the Department of General Services launched an innovative partnership with Procurated to enable local governments, schools and non-profits across the state to access Procurated.  These organizations are able to write and reviews about suppliers on the DGS’ COSTARS contracts.  For more than 15 years, the COSTARS program has been creating contracts that political subdivisions can utilize without conducting their own procurements.  More than $1B in purchasing activity goes through COSTARS agreements annually.  Through using Procurated, those local governments can make better informed decisions, aided by the reviews written by their peers.

“Pennsylvania’s first-in-the-nation partnership with Procurated provides over 9,000 COSTARS members with instant access to candid ratings and reviews for thousands of suppliers across the state.  They have used COSTARS contracts for years because it’s very convenient.  Now, they can select suppliers from COSTARS contracts with even greater confidence, because they can read candid reviews about those suppliers,” said DGS Secretary Curt Topper. “In addition to helping purchasers choose the highest-quality suppliers, Procurated’s innovative technology allows them to access reviews more efficiently than ever, saving governments both time and money.”
