Talent and Operations Associate

What we do: 
We build technology to empower public-sector purchasers and suppliers by improving the efficiency of the government procurement process. Procurated allows public-sector purchasers to review the suppliers they work with, helping other procurement professionals make informed decisions as they select their next supplier. We also work with government suppliers, helping them understand the needs of the public sector and improve their performance. In serving two sides of the marketplace, we simplify and streamline the procurement process. 
 
The Opportunity: 
We need your help building our exceptional team. You’ll be working hand in glove with the senior members of Procurated to help recruit the next wave of A-Players to join us. The Talent and Operations Associate is responsible for building pipelines of candidates and managing the recruiting process through to onboarding. You’ll be helping with everything from employee happiness and retention to compliance and HR logistics. 
 
In addition to sourcing incredible candidates, we need your help making Procurated run. You’ll be working to support our internal team and customers bringing joy to your colleagues and users on our platform.  The Talent and Operations Associate is a creative problem-solver who is eager to jump in and make an impact to help us to improve our business. You are not afraid to get into the weeds to make sure every detail of a project is done right.  
 
What you might do on any given day: 
  • Recruiting and onboarding new employees on all teams from Engineering to Sales  
  • Champion diversity and inclusion in all business practices 
  • Work with all teams to help company-wide initiatives come together  
  • Create and document best practices and procedures  
  • Develop an initiative to improve the work experience of employees 
  • Think on your feet and multitask; you’ll be asked to solve problems for our business big and small 
 
About you: 
  • You live in Washington, DC (Our headquarters is in Dupont Circle) 
  • You aren’t a stranger to recruiting – you have demonstrated experience with sourcing candidates and building pipelines in a variety of roles 
  • You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment 
  • You love coming up with creative ways to solve a problem  
  • You care about how things work, and want to make them work better  
  • You’re resilient -- you know the value of having a process in place, but you’re ready for the bumps too  
  • You are open to constructive conversations—whether it’s listening to a new point of view, using feedback to improve your own work, or starting something over from scratch because it’s just not working  
  • You are a skilled negotiator who is great at finding creative ways to do more with less

What is the hiring process? 
Our hiring team reviews all applications. We generally conduct our conversations via Zoom but can adjust the process as necessary to accommodate candidates’ needs. 
 
  • Initial Screen: You’ll have a relaxed initial conversation with a member of the hiring team and tell us a bit about yourself, as well as learning more about Procurated and the particulars of the role. 
  • Team Interview: You’ll chat with members of our team who you would work closely with in this role. We’ll go through your resume and background. We will ask for relevant examples from your experience and learn about what you want to do in the future. This conversation will give you the opportunity to meet some of our Procurated teammates and get a feel for how we all work together. 
  • Exercise: If there is a mutual fit after our team conversations, we’ll ask you to spend no more than an hour thinking about how you would solve the sort of problem that might be presented to you at work. You’ll have the chance to discuss your solution to this problem in our next conversation.  
  • Final Interview: This interview will be with members of our leadership team and will be your opportunity to learn more about the high-level vision at the company and your contribution to it. You'll also have the opportunity to review your exercise with our team. The Procurated Story: 
 Founded in 2019, Procurated provides a way for state and local government, educational, healthcare and non-profit purchasers to write reviews of suppliers they have worked with. These reviews help other procurement professionals make more informed decisions when selecting their next supplier. We work closely with suppliers to help them understand the needs of the public sector and improve performance. In serving two sides of the marketplace, we help to simplify and streamline procurement. 
 
Procurated is an early-stage startup backed financially by Limerick Hill LLC and MayFive Holdings, Inc. The company’s founder and CEO served as Deputy Secretary for Procurement of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and brings valuable experience having sat in the chair of a public procurement professional.
