Public Sector Account Executive

Procurated allows public-sector purchasers to review the suppliers they work with, helping other procurement professionals to make informed decisions as they select their next supplier. We also work with government suppliers, helping them to understand the needs of the public sector and improve their performance. What is the role?
The Public Sector Account Executive is responsible for initiating and developing strong relationships with medium-large public sector organizations. They balance their time between acquiring new business customers and launching those customers prior to seamlessly transitioning the customer to our account management team. They will work closely with customers to understand their procurement requirements and how Procurated can improve their overall process. The ideal candidate will have experience developing relationships at the Chief Procurement Officer level as well as other executive leadership. 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Completing the sales cycle from prospecting through acquisition by accurately forecasting and achieving quarterly sales targets
  • Managing a prospecting pipeline of prospective public sector partners.
  • Conducting discovery sessions to uncover customer needs that Procurated can address followed by customized demonstrations 
  • Introducing the Procurated platform to Procurement professionals in large public sector organizations (States, federal agencies, large cities and higher ed. among others)
  • Leveraging marketing campaigns to generate leads
  • Coordinating with other internal teams such as Marketing, Product Development, and Sales Operations to represent the Voice of Customer 
  • Attending trade shows on behalf of the organization often as the only Procurated representative, responsible for the end-to-end success of the event including registration, presentations, event logistics, and post-show follow-up with leads.
  • Traveling (overnight) up to 30%, for which you will have advance notice. 

About You:

  • You have strong relationships and experience in state and local government sales
  • You have a deep knowledge of public procurement and e-procurement solutions
  • You have full-cycle sales experience, and have built and maintained a sales pipeline
  • You have the ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in achieving goals
  • You’re confident representing and articulating the Procurated value proposition - in a one-on-one meeting with a purchasing executive, with hundreds of people at a trade show, or with an online community.
  • You’re a strategic thinker, exceptionally organized, and love to network and meet new people.
  • You have a strong executive presence - You love to solve problems and influence others.
  • You love coming up with creative ways to solve a problem independently -You’re excited to learn new things and execute on them quickly.

What is the hiring process?
Our hiring team reviews all applications, and the community team is involved from the start. We generally conduct our conversations via Zoom but can adjust the process as necessary to accommodate candidates’ needs.

  • Initial Screen: You’ll have a relaxed initial conversation with a member of the hiring team and tell us a bit about yourself, as well as learning more about Procurated and the particulars of the role.
  • Team Interview: You’ll chat with members of our team who are on, or work closely with the Community Team. We’ll go through your resume and background. We will ask for relevant examples from your past experience and learn about what you want to do in the future. This conversation will give you the opportunity to meet some of our Procurated teammates and get a feel for how we all work together.
  • Final Interview and Presentation: This interview will be with members of our leadership team and will be your opportunity to learn more about the high-level vision at the company and your contribution to it. This conversation will include a presentation for which we will give you the prompt in advance to give you sufficient time to prepare and impress us!
