Director of Sales

What we do: 
Procurated is a ratings and reviews platform for the public sector helping procurement officials pick better suppliers. We have built a product to make public procurement professionals more efficient and improve the lives of citizens they serve. In addition, Procurated offers industry leading suppliers a unique opportunity to engage with buyers making multi-million dollar purchasing decisions.

The Opportunity: 
As our first full-time sales leader, you will have the opportunity to guide the strategic direction of our sales efforts and shape our go-to-market approach for our sponsorship offering. While there is a need to rapidly scale our advertisers, you will start with a strong pipeline of relationships that we have built through our active involvement in public procurement for the last 15 years. You’ll shape our revenue team as we make additional hires in 2021.  
We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, creatively and is excited about the opportunity to build something from the ground up. As the face of our company to government suppliers of all sizes, you need to be outgoing, inquisitive, solution-oriented, persistent, and persuasive.  
What you might do on any given day: 
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business by following up with inbound leads, proactively reaching out to prospects, and scheduling sales meetings 
  • Pitch the Procurated sponsorship opportunity to potential advertisers, helping them understand the unique value proposition of reaching our audience 
  • Serve as a thought-partner when engaging with marking and sales executives to help them identify the best ways to engage with our procurement audience. Identify solutions that add value for procurement professionals and advance supplier business objectives 
  • Customize pitch decks and sales collateral   
  • Maintain regular contact with active campaigns, report on results and serve as point of contact for supplier partners as the revenue team is built 
  • Drive sustainable and repeatable sponsorship revenue through successful win-win partnerships 
  • Share our progress in engaging advertisers with our Board of Directors 
About You:  
  • You live anywhere in the US (read about our remote work environment here)  
  • You have significant experience selling digital advertising programs including display, video, and native content  
  • You are comfortable making cold calls to sales prospects to pitch business  
  • You have some experience in working with advertisers that sell into the commercial or ideally government market, or if not, you are ready to roll up your sleeves and learn what drives marketing decisions in these companies 
  • You relish the opportunity to work in a scrappy, startup environment where you act as player and a coach 
  • You are a strategic thinker and you are exceptionally organized  
  • You have experience managing others 
  • You love to network and meet new people  
  • You’re tech savvy and open-minded  
Things you might have done before joining the team: 
  • Worked for a media or digital platform selling advertisements and sponsorships 
  • Worked in-house in a digital marketing role where you bought and managed ad campaigns 
  • Worked at an advertising agency 
  • Played on a really great team 
  • Participated in debate club 
The Procurated Story: 
 Founded in 2019, Procurated provides a way for state and local government, educational, healthcare and non-profit purchasers to write reviews of suppliers they have worked with. These reviews help other procurement professionals make more informed decisions when selecting their next supplier. We work closely with suppliers to help them understand the needs of the public sector and improve performance. In serving two sides of the marketplace, we help to simplify and streamline procurement.  

Procurated is an early-stage startup backed financially by Limerick Hill LLC and MayFive Holdings, Inc. The company’s founder and CEO served as Deputy Secretary for Procurement of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and brings valuable experience having sat in the chair of a public procurement professional.
