Account Executive

The Company:   
Buyers working for state and local governments and in public education spend $1.5T every year. These buyers procure the goods and services that support communities across the country but often, they are forced to do so with little to no information about the past performance of the suppliers they buy from. 
Why is it easier to find information about a restaurant on Yelp, or a hotel on TripAdvisor, than it is to find information about a supplier you’re considering for a multi-million-dollar government contract?  
At Procurated, we think there is a better way. Our rating and review platform empowers the public procurement community by helping them find the information they need from the people they trust.  
We launched our application in beta in June of 2019. Since then, we have collected over 40,000 reviews of 9,000 suppliers from 7,500 government buyers and have 7 partner states. We recently raised Series A venture capital to accelerate growth. This means we’ll be scaling up key functions across the organization to drive further platform adoption, user engagement, and revenue.  
The Opportunity:   
The Procurated platform hosts a two-sided marketplace. On one side we have our buyer community, made up of state and local government, K-12 and higher education purchasers who use our platform for free. On the other is our supplier community, made up of Fortune 500 companies and small, diverse and women owned businesses. These suppliers have Procurated profiles where buyers can learn about their business and read reviews. Any supplier can claim their profile on Procurated for free. For a small annual fee, suppliers have the opportunity to upgrade to a Pro Profile which allows them to share additional content about their business with our government audience. We also offer advertising solutions to suppliers who want to extend their reach on our platform.   
As an Account Executive, you will be on the front lines, growing our subscription revenue. You will own the full sales cycle, meaning you’ll be responsible for everything from making introductory calls and responding to inbound inquiries, to pitching our solutions to senior level executives and closing deals.  
Procurated’s supplier solutions are a new offering, so the ideal candidate for this role is someone who is flexible, learns quickly, can navigate ambiguity, and is excited by a new challenge.  
What you might do on any given day:  
  • Make outbound calls to 50 businesses who are ideal customers for a Pro Supplier Profile 
  • Consultatively guide a prospect through our supplier solutions to demonstrate how our offering can help them achieve their business goals  
  • Listen closely to customer concerns so you can identify solutions and overcome objections 
  • Uncover and relay supplier feedback to the product team for continued product development 
  • Strategize creative ways to achieve and exceed agreed monthly recurring revenue goals, customer conversion rates, supplier page claims and other related KPIs  
     About You:  
  • You live anywhere in the Washington, DC Area (we’d like you to come into the office for training and a couple days a month for team building, team discussions, coaching, lunches, etc.) 
  • You have 1-2 years professional experience, maybe in a sales role  
  • You are comfortable making cold calls to sales prospects to pitch business  
  • You are confident when presenting in front of senior executives and are able to hold engaging dialogue with our suppliers on industry, local trends, website statistics, and ROI  
  • You are results-oriented and thrive when working towards a challenging but achievable goal 
  • You’re a skilled communicator both in person and in writing. 
  • You are coachable and open to feedback and dedication to consistent self-improvement to grow within your role  
  • You relish the opportunity to work in a scrappy, startup environment  
  • You are exceptionally organized  
  • You love to network and meet new people  
  • You’re tech savvy and open-minded
